They arrived in luxury cars with drivers, looking very wealthy!
The driver said, “Mr. Jiang, let me help you carry your things upstairs.”
“No need, I can do it myself.”
Jiang Ciyan carried his suitcase upstairs. He came late, so he wasn’t in line for room selection. Following the staff’s instructions, he knocked on the door of the room on the left side of the stairs.
Zhong Yi opened the door with an unhappy expression, “Who is it? I already said I’m not comfortable sharing a room with anyone.”
After seeing Jiang Ciyan at the door, he frowned. Why did this person look a bit familiar? Like he’d seen him somewhere.
Jiang Ciyan replied, “The other rooms are already full.”
Zhong Yi blocked the doorway, “Well, I don’t care; figure it out yourself.”
“Are you sure?”
Jiang Ciyan’s tone was calm, exuding an air of confidence.
Zhong Yi hesitated for a few seconds, but then decisively closed the door at the thought of having to share a room with someone. No way! He certainly wouldn’t lower himself like that.
In the control room, the director wiped cold sweat from his forehead, considering whether to arrange another room for Jiang Ciyan to stay alone.
Jiang Ciyan remained expressionless and calmly took out his phone to make a call.
Not long after he hung up, Zhong Yi reluctantly opened the door again.
Jiang Ciyan asked, “Can I come in now?”
Zhong Yi snapped, “You’re so sinister! You actually called my dad!”
Zhong Yi was nearly furious. He was fearless, not even worried if the king of heaven were to show up, but he never expected this guest to actually know his dad.
He was truly stunned.
He stepped aside to let Jiang Ciyan enter and scrutinized him from head to toe.
Dull, boring, lacking any novelty, with a cold expression.
Zhong Yi stood beside him in a dark bathrobe with his arms crossed, “I’ll say this upfront; I only let you in because of my dad, but don’t think I’m afraid of you.”
Jiang Ciyan quietly removed his coat and loosened his collar. Seeing the gifts laid out on the bedside table, he picked one up, “Is this for me?”
Zhong Yi replied, “It’s not just for you. This young master is so wealthy, of course, it’s for everyone on the team.”
Jiang Ciyan set the gift box down, “Turns out you aren’t entirely useless.”
“Hey, what do you mean? Who would dislike me? I’m quite popular, thank you very much!”
Whether at school or work, many people competed to hang out with him. Plus, he was attractive and treated his friends well; how could anyone dislike him?
Zhong Yi continued, “Are you envious of me, someone who has no friends and is such a stiff?”
Jiang Ciyan merely chuckled and didn’t respond, instead, he opened his suitcase and began organizing his belongings neatly.
Looking at the simple and boring color scheme, Zhong Yi thought this was so dull. Was he here to find a romantic partner or to attend a business meeting?
But then again, no one would like this kind of stiff, right?
Once all the guests had arrived, the production team wouldn’t let them stay in their rooms; that would be too ineffective for the show. So they began calling everyone downstairs to gather.
Considering it was their first day, the production team had arranged for someone to prepare a feast, laying out a full table of food.
Choosing seats would also be interesting.
The dining table was long, with a total of eight seats, and who sat next to whom could reveal first impressions.
The first group to come down was Qin Xiuxian and Zhou Siyuan. Their temperament was vastly different; one had a standard wheat skin tone while the other sported scholarly silver-framed glasses.
The stark contrast provided a powerful visual impact.
After they were seated, they didn’t dive straight into the food but chatted from time to time while waiting for the others to arrive.
Tong Sui came down with Sang Cai. Noticing Zhou Siyuan and Qin Xiuxian sitting close to each other, they exchanged greetings.
Although he preferred to sit beside Zhou Siyuan, he wanted the main couple to develop their relationship.
So, he chose to pull out the chair on the left side of Qin Xiuxian, saying to Sang Cai, “You sit here; I’ll sit next to you.”
Sang Cai didn’t expect Tong Sui to pull out a chair for him. He didn’t even pay attention to Qin Xiuxian sitting next to them and cheerfully replied, “Thanks, darling.”
He looked stunning, his smile radiating charm, which drew everyone’s attention.
Qin Xiuxian glanced over at him, showing a brief moment of daze that was quickly suppressed.
But viewers who had watched many dating shows would understand.
– That gaze was undoubtedly off.
– Qin must have taken a liking to Sang Cai; they seem like a good match.
After Sang Cai sat down, Qin Xiuxian initiated the conversation, “Hello, I’m Qin Xiuxian, and I currently run a special effects company.”
Upon hearing his profession, Sang Cai’s eyes lit up, “Special effects?”
“Yes, our team has worked on many large projects abroad,” Qin Xiuxian noted his interest and shared a few project cases.
Sang Cai listened attentively, “So are you working on anything new after returning home?”
“We plan to form our own team to operate an entire project independently,” Qin Xiuxian replied, “but we’re still in the initial stages.”
As they chatted, footsteps approached from the staircase behind them.
Zhong Yi had changed into another outfit, still adorned in flashy designer wear, as if he had even styled his hair.
Knowing they were just going downstairs for a meal, one might think he was attending some gala.
